The Sage is sweet

I'm sitting here and he just got up from his chair to give me a hug. "All right?" he said. "Fine," I replied, and turned, put my arms round him and kissed him.

Afterwards, he said "thank you."

What's that for? He's not exactly starved of affection!

It's been a busier day than I would have liked, but not as busy as I'd planned. So pretty well okay, really, except that I'll have to catch up tomorrow. That'll be okay.

We spent quite a long time sitting in Al and Dilly's garden, first chatting with her mum and dad and later, after they'd left, drinking wine. Far better than working, although I got a lot done in an extremely warm greenhouse in the time in between.

Roast pork tonight. The Sage put it in the oven for me and sliced an onion for it to rest on. He also scrubbed some new potatoes. He will be quite sure that he has cooked dinner tonight all by himself.

Husbands. What's not to love?

Eek! Do I sound totally pissed, or merely pleasantly mellow?

Dinner's ready. There's plenty, if you'd like some.

Simple, it was, Jen. Cauliflower and little turnips. Then pineapple and blueberries to follow. Sauvignon blanc to drink. Then I fell asleep!

In love... Hey, I'm too old to be in love with my husband aren't I? ;-)

Never too old.

"He will be quite sure that he has cooked dinner tonight all by himself." Let me tell you about the night before last. It started with him saying, "I'll fix stir-fry." I make a pot of rice, cut up an onion & some celery, julienne a carrot, mince garlic and ginger, slice cabbage, green onions, bok choy, rinse bean sprouts, thaw a piece of pork, Chinese BBQ pork and a chicken breast, then cut them in appropriate pieces and line this up next to the stove for him just like he was Emeril. I make a pot of tea, dishes, napkins, chopsticks...you get the picture. Then he gets out the wok and fixes stir-fry all by himself!!!
