1 The sun is shining again. How unusual, to have the best weather at the weekends.
2 The descriptions and condition report for the auction in June are just about done, now the photos must be taken, then the catalogue can be set out ready to go to the printers.
3 Great quantities of brambles have been hacked back and a pile is ready to be burnt and the greenhouse is in the process of being dismantled. I'm sad, it's my favourite greenhouse, but the decision makes sense for several reasons.
I'm beyond being sentimental, although I expect we won't dispose of the pieces yet. Just in case...
4 A year ago, I was in India. Nandini and Joe's wedding was first in Chennai on the 8th April and then in Vellore nearly a week later, on the 14th (two ceremonies: she's Hindu and he's Christian). The temperature was over 40º C in Vellore. I'm reminded of it by my Facebook picture, which is still of me talking to a temple elephant. I should change it to something more recent.
5 The Sage is out and the dog is asleep. It's marvellously quiet here.

It is marvelously quiet here as well - Compostman has just taken Compostgirl to a Pajama party and she will be brought back ( by another parent :-) ) at about 10 pm - a whole evening to ourselves! Wonder what we shall do?
Hope you enjoy it, whatever you do. I just sat and enjoyed it for a bit and read the papers.
I am in that miraculous state too currently, DBH at yet another athletics finals and Son quietly working his way through past A level papers in his Den. Hopefully. He is less bother than his father. I feel for you over the greenhouse. My parents had a beautiful victorian one with a brick base that would now cost thousands to build, and my mother made me help her to dismantle it rather than have it repaired. I have had such happy and peaceful times in greenhouses that I always hate to see them on their last legs. They have always been my sanctuary when times of insanity have reigned in the house. The elephant photo may be old to you, but not to me.
I love those old greenhouses, they were so well designed, with ventilation built in and everything. This one isn't beyond repair, though it would need a lot of work, but we really don't need it, now or in future.
I have this fear of greenhouses through ignorance...I've never seen one in real life, only in the movies. And in the movies, they always have terrible things happening in them. Yet greenhouses look beautiful with all those lovely plants inside.
An auction! That sounds exciting. It's yet another thing I've never experienced.
It does look as though a terrible thing just happened in the one in the pic :-)
It is now an ex-greenhouse :(
