When I was turning out a cupboard I found a drawing I did a few years ago, in my one and only sketching lesson (it was at a WI meeting). The Sage, rather sweetly, was full of praise. I think it will be only too obvious to you that it is entirely undeserved. I can neither draw nor take photos. I suppose I could have scanned it. Anyway, just to keep up with the Daveses in displaying my "talent"....

It shows much promise.
Promise of what, Dave? Thank you for saying the most polite thing you could think of.
Nice drawing of an iris.
You recognised it! Good dog! Let's not look at the awful leaves. It was, at least, a real flower I drew not a photo.
Seems a bit overblown. Or is it reaching out to hug you?
It's better than Emin's royal wedding "piece".
Overblown is a good word for it.
It's an allegory for an unmade bed, Simon.
I don't care what you say, I like it:-P So there!)
The colours are right.
I did my best. I found it really quite difficult and am not tempted to try again. But I did try!
And, apart from the stem and leaves, the iris did look like that! (more or less)
I'd frame it.
Work from an artist's early 'naive period' is often the most valuable later on.
Put it on the fridge. Everyone will think the grandkiddies did it ;)
Blue Witch! LMAO!!
Well put, John.
You can all see why I can't be bothered to try again!
