Z receives an email!!!

Under the circumstances, I do hope that JonnyB (this newfangled "Alex Marsh" nonsense is quite beyond me) will excuse the triple exclamation marks that are his by right of conquest, but if you haven't yet ordered  his book, you don't have to pre-order it any more, because Amazon are posting it Right Now, as I write.

I am going to cut the heads off thistles to celebrate.  With apologies to any goldfinches that are looking forward to eating the seeds.

My book is far more exclusive. Amazon don't stock it.

Hmm. You don't appear to have ordered it via my Amazon link.

No darling, I ordered it through Jonny's - it seemed only fair. Next time I buy a book, I promise that I'll do it through your link.

I understand that you buy a book and enjoy, but why are you decpitating thistles? Something with fruits comes to my mind - you should know them by their fruits, roses and thistles, but I forgot the connection.

Simply that they are about to come into flower and I don't want them to seed all over the garden - nothing celebratory about it at all really...

Isn't there a market for locally-grown thistles, in season?

I wish I'd written a book that was on amazon and everything. I'm not jealous :-)

Oww leave a couple for the birdies

Well, not having actually written a book, nor am I.

One year's seeding, seven years' weeding.

Does this count as today's post too?

Are you offering me a day off?

Dave said...

No, I'm mildly complaining that I've had nothing to read this morning.

I'm writing a post now, it should be ready in ten minutes.

I've got bacon and eggs, would you like me to cook breakfast for you too?

Z said...

Done.

Boooo.... I did not get breakfast...

They have started arriving at peoples' houses. To say that I am scared would be an understatement.

Oh Jonny, we'd scoffed the lot. No scoffing at your book though, we're proud of you. I was going to write a facetious comment, telling you how critically I was going to review it - but of course, that's not true. I'm really looking forward to reading it, I actually have bought several copies for non-blogging friends and I hope it's a bestseller.
