Thank you for your kind comments - Blogger still alters my account, even between reading a comment and replying to it, so I've rather given up for now. It's nearly 7 o'clock and I've got to go out for a meeting in a few minutes, so speed will gain over anything else.
The auction went well - quite a number of unsold lots, but they were not expensive ones, many of the unsold pieces being single coffee cups without saucers. Since most people in those days bought the coffee cups, the tea bowls and one set of saucers to go with either, coffee cups and saucers rather lost out. But there were some nice ones and it was just which caught the bidders' eye on the evening. The lovely (and expensive) pieces sold, which was a relief.
I had no end of problems with online banking afterwards and had to make numerous phone calls, each of which I had to queue for so they took many hours altogether. By the time of the fifth and sixth, I was terse.
But never mind. All is good in Z-land on the whole. Both cars have passed their MOTs and I've lit the Aga and woodburner - that is, the former once and the latter most evenings. Because I'm going out, I haven't bothered tonight and I'm sitting with a heated blanket on my lap.
Al and Ro, with their families, came over on Saturday and we had a bonfire and supper. Alex carved a couple of pumpkins, if I had time I'd add photos and I'll try to remember tomorrow - or sometime. I have a lovely family and I'm extremely lucky.
