From the side, they looked like mermaids. Who knew?

The statue in the main square was quite impressive.

At second glance, it was amazingly rude.

  1. It's a simple case of 'when riding on a dolphin without a bra, protect your boobs'. It's the first thing they teach you at finishing school!

(by the way my word verification, as I am looking at it now, beneath this comment box is - and I am not making this up - 'STINKO')

Is that a warning to stay away?

  2. Word verifications have improved considerably of late, but that's one of the best. I hate wv in fact, and will turn it off before long, but so much spam is going the rounds that I'm taking avoiding action. Rather like the mermaids.

There was also a courting couple in passionate embrace on the statue steps, but I thought a photo would be an intrusion.

  4. This blog will be getting an X-rating.

I haven't had any spam for over a year.

    Not even on my blog.

  6. It will be my benchmark of comparison with any controversial piece of modern art, Pat.

I've had none either, Dave - doesn't really taste of much, does it?

Hiding his face, with good reason, Rog.

The MEP candidate in the poster was worryingly good-looking, don't you think? I don't think I could vote for anyone quite so much prettier than I am.

  7. Can you imagine the furore if they wanted to put that on the 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square?

  8. Absolutely. There was enough fuss about the shell on Aldeburgh beach and there was nothing salacious about that at all!

Wvs have certainly become more entertaining, and they've stopped putting those ones that are so distorted I can't read them. However, if popular opinion wants me to remove them, I will.

  11. One popular man's opinion is good enough for me. I turned it on was because I was going to be away and I didn't want things to go awry then.

MInd you, I'm not sure about encouraging 5,000 comments per post.

    Thanks, Jen

  14. Wow, looks like someone is having a fun ride. Thanks for posting the pics.

And thanks for turning off the WV. I figured you had a good reason and therefor didn't complain.
