In a nutshell

"The deep, deep longing that people have for hope." Bishop Desmond Tutu on the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning.

  1. I love Desmond Tutu. Thought he was an Archbishop though.

Personally, I don't have to long for hope, as I have it in spades. It's as cheap as despair anyway. What I do have though is a deep longing for my hopes to come to fruition, which of course is a totally different kettle of loaves and fishes.

  2. A bishop is still a bishop, even if he isn't sleeping under a railway bridge .... ;-)

    But yes ...
Hope is the thing with feathers, as somebody said (Dorothy Parker, perhaps)

    Merry Christmas, Z'n all

  3. So he is.

I think that you've dealt with horrible things resolutely this year,Dan. You've not let them overwhelm you and I'm absolutely sure that when you get opportunities you will grab them and succeed with them.

Cheers, Gordie darling. Same to you.
