But in those days state education, at Grammar schools anyway, was far better than most private schools.

Dave, I look back on my childhood self with such pity. I made my life a misery. I remember blogging it before, that I never called any person by name and never referred to anyone as a friend because I had so little sense of self-worth. I missed out on so much.

I assumed you meant that now you are a man. But girls did go to grammar school. And how odd, to skip a year and then stay for 2 - not very easy to make friends.

Not of the Walrus, Dott, but some of me as a child. I'll see if I can look any out sometime.Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00822383355869390919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21602861.post-82123380012169679052009-11-23T11:51:35.541+00:002009-11-23T11:51:35.541+00:00Are there photos? Are there photos?Tim Atkinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00858684167484655029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21602861.post-12370035318451073232009-11-23T11:18:12.702+00:002009-11-23T11:18:12.702+00:00I think that last bit should read 'But then, I...I think that last bit should read 'But then, I was a boy.' And of course people even shyer are even less likely to be around to be met.

I jumped over year 1 of Junior school, and spent 2 years in year 2, and was then jumped to year 4, where I again spent 2 years.

I passed the 11+ and went to Grammar School. I know one of my son's girlfriends had a mother with her sights set on Prince Charles.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01529798893653033970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21602861.post-52582960094484876472009-11-23T11:06:32.769+00:002009-11-23T11:06:32.769+00:00I passed my 11 plus too!
