Bringing on the wall, Day 38 - Dave is cornered

This has been a red-letter day. The whole of one side of the wall is finally complete.
The Sage brought Dave a celebratory cup of tea in an 18th Century mug. Dave quite unreasonably refused to drink it, on the grounds that the mug was both chipped and cracked.
The finishing touches.
The finished wall

The first section, which was completed last summer

We weren't idle the rest of the day, either. All ready for planting.

What a splendid wall. You will be the envy of all of England, I am sure. Maybe even China.

So be thankfull to Dave - isn't it a custom to throw things like glasses and mugs at a completed wall? Somewhere in my memory this is stored ... I wondered already yesterday about the mug, whether it was removed from the wall's crown or not?
And as Marion saied: A splendid wall! Congratulations!

(I refrain from linking any wall-related youtube.)

Isn't it the Great Wall of Yagnub? Congratulations Dave, Sage and Z on your construction. It really looks wonderful and one thing that makes it special is how many people were involved. . Sort of like a quilt-but in bricks.

oooh posh, will people be able to hike around it?

Dave said...

I think you could probably sell tickets to view it.

Wow. I look forward to seeing it in person. I'm impressed.

Oooo....I have lupin envy.

I'm off to school shortly to ascertain that I don't need no education.

Actually, I have resisted using the most obvious clip all this time. I'll continue to do so.

There will, of course, be observation platforms every quarter of a mile of the wall. Dave can sell tickets and provide the guided tour every hour.

Roses, I think you will be the first blogger to carry out an official inspection. See you in 4 hours time!

Oh, and Mago, if you want to throw a cup at the wall, please clear up afterwards. And please not one that's over 200 years old.

is it a wall for in-keeping or out-keeping?

It is indeed a work of art.

(I have finished the food one and am on the pants! I must really go to school too!!)

Out-keeping. Rabbits. Very large rabbits they have round there.

Brilliant.

A bantam got in this afternoon. She flew. Not over the full-height part of the wall, but still.

Zig, what can I say? I'm well on my way through the original game now. There are 12 levels and I've completed 3 and am a third of the way through each of 3 others.

Yeah it is splendid ~ and an amazing design... and didn't I say this before? Or is my memory playing tricks on me (as per usual!)

I like the pillars!

Dave designed the pillars. I think it's beautiful. You may have said it before, Gled, I can't remember either (you know, the useful thing about a memory like mine is that, when I develop Alzheimer's, no one will notice the difference) but it's still worth saying again.
